Dániel Bodosi was born on 27th. July 1913. in Baraolt, Romania (Hungarian: Barót). Between 1941-44 he studied at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest, being a student of Gyula Rudnay. In 1944 he returned home to Baraolt.
In the 50’s he designed posters and scenery for theaters and community centers. Since 1968 he regularly participated with his own paintings in group exhibitions organized within and outside of Covasna County. Solo exhibitions were held in Sfantu Gheorghe (1973), Odorheiu Secuiesc (1974), Cluj-Napoca (1983), Bucuresti (1983), Ozunca Bai (1977), Baraolt (1974, 1994, 1997, 2005).

In 1994 he becomes member of the artist community Artists’ Gyula Rudnay Memorial Society (Művészek Rudnay Gyula Baráti Emléktársasága).
In the same year he receives the symbolic "Town Key" from his hometown Baraolt.
In 2005 he receives the Prize for Culture of the Baraolt Region (Erdővidék kultúrájáért - díj) from the "Gaál Mózes" Cultural Association for
his outstanding artistic achievement and contributions to the cultural enrichment of Erdővidék.
In 2006 he receives the “Pro Comitatu Covasnae” award from the Council of Covasna County. The award recognizes his contribution as an artist
to the county’s reputation.
From 2024, he is a posthumous member of the Barabás Miklós Guild of Artists.
He passed away at the age of 93 on the 30th of August 2006.
In 2007 an album "Bodosi Dániel - válogatás a művész alkotásaiból" is published by the "Gaál Mózes" Cultural Association. The album was edited by Anna-Mária Darvas and the reproductions were made by Edit Hoffman.
In 2009 the “Gaál Mózes” Cultural Association published a book about the life of the three Bodosi brothers of Baraolt entitled "A baróti Bodosi fivérek: Mihály, Dániel es Antal". Around the same time, the town council of Baraolt placed a memorial plaque in the memory of the three brothers on the wall of their parental home on Kossuth Lajos street.
In 2012, within the framework of the “XX. Erdővidéki Cultural Days” one of the rooms of the Community Center in Baraolt is named in his honor.
In 2012 the monograph "Bodosi Dániel" written by Zoltán Banner appeared in print at Tortoma Publishing House. In 2013, on occasion of the 100th year birth anniversary, this book was presented in Baraolt and Brasov.
In 2013 a memorial column is inaugurated in his honor in the yard of Baróti Szabó Dávid High School.
